One Voice Leads A Mini Course at Three Bridges School
April 26, 2024 - ONE VOICE LEADS A MINI COURSE AT THREE BRIDGES SCHOOL
Thanks to Three Bridges School for allowing us to take part in their mini courses! Amy Torres enjoyed teaching stress reduction techniques as part of our Mind, Body and Movement program. The kids enjoyed listening to favorite songs from Mario Bros and the Barbie movie while focusing on breathwork. Healthy minds make healthy choices!

Carolanne Sherwood - Outreach Specialist and Amy Torres – Youth Project Coordinator led Mind, Body and Movement to students at Whitehouse School. The Yoga Ed program teaches that there is a link to mood and movement; and better prepares the students to handle stressful situations. The students learned that taking deep breaths, laughing or moving in silly ways, increases endorphins in our brains which makes us naturally feel better. Each child left with a One Voice goodie bag and a Parent Toolkit for their parents/guardians.

April 12, 2024 - Bag Bingo to Benefit the Readington H.S.A.
One Voice sponsored a purse bingo round and provided door prizes for the event held at Readington Middle School. We gave Deterra safe medication disposal bags to each person in attendance. Executive Director Lesley Gabel and Outreach Specialist Carolanne Sherwood did a great job of calling Bingo and Lesley also spoke about the importance of safe medication disposal, DEA Takeback Day on 4/27/24 and the Medicine Dropbox locations, as well as the 911 Lifeline Legislation. Between volunteers and participants we reached almost 175 people, about 15 pre teen volunteers and 160 adults.

Dinner and Dialogue - April 9, 2024
One Voice Youth Coordinator Amy Torres enjoyed teaching stress reduction skills to Desmares students at a bilingual Dinner and Dialogue held at RFIS. The Desmares Dolphins put the breathwork they learned into practice while inflating beach balls decorated with coping strategies to use at home. The kids also giggled while they stretched into playful yoga movements, both individually and with a partner! Thanks to HCRHS students for volunteering their time!

Congressman Tom Kean met with One Voice staff to learn more about prevention work in Hunterdon County and discuss ways that the federal government can help keep our adolescents and young adults safe from drug and alcohol misuse.

One Voice Executive Director Lesley Gabel met with Raritan Township's Volunteer Community Emergency Response Team to discuss the dangers and threats of fentanyl, opioids impact on youth, the importance of carrying Narcan to save lives, and the fact that anyone can obtain Narcan for free from participating pharmacies in New Jersey.

One Voice staff had the opportunity to attend Capitol Hill Day in Washington DC to talk with our Congressman Tom Kean regarding the work that is being done in Hunterdon County to reduce substance misuse though our coalition, and the federal grants that support our efforts.
CADCA's National Leadership Forum
January 29- February 1, 2024 - CADCA's National Leadership Forum
One Voice staff attended CADCA's National Leadership Forum, the premiere training event for prevention professionals, community leaders, and experts to convene, share insights, and collaborate on innovative strategies to drive lasting and impactful community change, in order to reduce youth substance use.
One Voice Executive Director Lesley Gabel co-presented with Erin Cohen from Prevention Resources two sessions: Fentanyl Prevention and Medication Opioid Use Disorder.
